In relation to the recently advertised teaching position for which I am applying.

My name is Khailasha Naidoo, I am excited to apply for this teaching position. I am a

Bachelors Degree graduate in intermediate phase teaching/education from the IIE Varsity

College Durban North. I have studied and gained experience in teaching and learning,

different approaches, methodologies, skills, and educational studies throughout my 4 year

degree.

I recently worked at Clayhaven Primary School. I work as a Grade 4 and 5 Afrikaans teacher, Grade 6 physical education teacher, and Grade 7 Creative Art and Life Orientation Teacher.This makes me eligible for the advertised position.

Throughout my 4 years at college, I have gained teaching experience in many schools in the

different grades as well as grades in which the school needed urgent teachers due to

emergencies or other reasons, and a teacher was needed. I am energetic and love working

with children, I am also a fast learner and always try to do everything to the best of my

ability to reach my goals. If given the chance, I will not disappoint to complete and excel in

my work.

I am TEFL certified. I am passionate about teaching and learning. I wish to educate and

nurture the young minds of tomorrow while learning about the different cultures, places,

people and lifestyles. I am passionate about teaching and learning and making a change in

the world through new, creative, and innovative ways so that learners can enjoy, fully learn,

be in a safe space and be engaged in the classroom. In my class, I believe in interactive

learning, so my teaching methodologies are but are not limited to cooperative learning,

discussion learning, inclusive education, and inquiry based learning. I believe in a more

learners centered approach in the classroom as it is more appropriate in this day with all

the changes and education, and generation development. However, with the learner

centered approach, it will include the traditional teacher centered approach in order to

create balance and guide the learners appropriately in their education.Personally, what I want to achieve is personal and professional growth. I feel as if I’m stagnant, I need a change. I want to learn different languages and cultures. I want to teach and educate young children. I have always looked after those younger than me, and it is something I am passionate about.

I have always wanted to travel and explore new places. I personally want to achieve independence and build myself up to someone more than what I am now.

Overall, I believe that I have the required experience and skill to undertake the advertised

teaching position and become a valuable member of your team.
